Level Creek Outfitters is a family-owned hunting operation run by Trenton Blythe on a working cattle ranch in the heart of the Flint Hills. Located 45 miles from Manhattan, the outfitter sits deep in native tallgrass prairie with crop fields and open water—prime habitat for pheasant, quail, and waterfowl.
They offer multiple hunt styles to fit different schedules and experience levels:
Field Hunts (CSA) - Full Day: 8 pheasant per hunter, morning and afternoon, homecooked meals included — $300/hunter - Half Day: 4 pheasant per hunter, one meal included — $200/hunter - Extra birds available at $20 each - Dogs provided; bring your own if desired
European Hunts These high-action shoots rotate hunters through 10 shooting stations with birds flying overhead. - Mega European: 10 pheasant per hunter, minimum 8 hunters — $280/hunter - Mini European: 5 pheasant per hunter, minimum 8 hunters — $180/hunter - Both include meal, cleanup hunt, and bird processing - Eye protection required; ear protection suggested
Every hunt includes guide service, trained hunting dogs, and cleaning and packaging of your birds.
They operate September 1st through April 30th. A 50% non-refundable deposit books your date, with flexibility to reschedule or transfer your deposit if plans change.
Kansas fall and winter weather requires layered clothing. Bring warm clothes, waterproof boots, gloves, shotgun and shells (available for purchase), and required licenses. Blaze orange is mandatory for pheasant hunts; safety glasses required for European hunts.
Resident Kansas Hunting License costs $27.50; non-resident $97.50. If hunting only CSA ground, a CSA Permit ($27.50) is the cheaper option. Complete a liability waiver upon arrival.
