Calcasieu Charter Service operates out of Hebert's Marina on the eastern shore of Calcasieu Lake, minutes south of Lake Charles. All captains are U.S. Coast Guard and Louisiana licensed professionals with years of experience on the water.
Target species include speckled trout, redfish, and flounder—the most sought-after inshore game fish on the Gulf Coast. Depending on conditions and season, you'll also encounter black drum, white trout, tripletail, cobia, Spanish and king mackerel, snapper, pompano, and sharks. The Calcasieu Estuary (including the river and ship channel from Lake Charles to the Gulf) is nationally recognized as a trophy trout paradise and one of the Gulf of Mexico's most prolific estuaries.
Basic Fishing Package – 7-8 hour day trip, no lodging or meals. Depart before sunrise, return by 2 PM. Cost: $750 (1-3 persons) or $1,000 (4 persons per boat).
Economy Fishing Package – Includes economy lodging ($125/person) and access to facilities. You handle your own meals and drinks. Same boat rates as Basic.
Deluxe Fishing Package – All-inclusive: deluxe lodging ($275/person), three meals daily, full open bar with premium liquors, wine and beer. Boat rates: $750 (1-3 persons) or $1,000 (4 persons).
Combination "Cast and Blast" Trips – Available November through February during waterfowl season. Hunt and Fish Package ($825/person, two-person minimum) combines afternoon fishing with deluxe hunting package. Teal and Fish Package also available at same rate.
All fishing packages include rods, reels, fuel, oil, ice, and artificial baits. Live shrimp available at market price (currently $20/quart). Gulf charters to nearshore oil platforms add $100 (captain's discretion, covers extra fuel and tackle).
Hunting operations focus on duck and goose populations in the legendary Mississippi Flyway. Properties are located near Lacassine Refuge in some of the finest waterfowl habitat in the state.
Species include: - Ducks: Mallards, pintails, teal - Geese: Snow, Blue, Specklebelly, and Canada geese (wintering populations are substantial)
All guides are described as veteran waterfowlers and exceptional callers.
Basic Hunting Package – Day hunt, two-person minimum. $325/person. Meet early morning at designated location, hunt from legal shooting hours until 10 AM, depart via ATV. You handle your own transportation to the field.
Deluxe Hunting Package – All-inclusive, two-person minimum. $600/person. Includes deluxe lodging, three meals, open bar with premium liquors/wine/beer. Lodge groups caravan to hunting areas (up to 30 minutes away), hunt until 10 AM, return for hot lunch. Birds processed while you clean up.
Seasonal Hunting Package – 30 individual hunt slots (without lodging) spread across thousands of acres. $7,800 total. Guarantees opening day slot for three hunters. All hunts guided by top callers.
Deluxe Seasonal Hunting Package – Same 30 all-inclusive slots with lodging, meals, and liquor. $14,400 (20% discount off regular rates). Opening day guarantee for three hunters.
Combination Packages – Hunt and Fish ($825/person, Nov-Feb) and Teal and Fish ($825/person, September onward) available.
Bird processing available; processing fees handled separately with processor.
