Full description and what we offer
Carbon Six builds replacement rifle barrels designed around two priorities: weight and accuracy. They use McGowen Precision Rifle Barrel blanks as their foundation, chambering them in everything from .17 to .458 caliber.
With proper load development, CarbonSix barrels will easily shoot 1/2 MOA. While we cannot control the shooter, these barrels are extremely accurate.
The math is straightforward: a quality blank matters, but the gunsmith and your ammunition setup matter equally. Carbon Six will provide recommendations on twist rates, but they direct customers to bullet manufacturers like Berger (who offer a twist rate calculator) for load-specific guidance.
You pick the specs. They build it.
Custom calibers (.17, .20, 5.45, .25, .303, 8mm, 9mm, .358, .45P) incur additional fees with no timeframe guarantees.
| Contour | Best For |
|---|---|
| Featherweight | Lightweight hunters, mountain rifles |
| Sendero | Long-range precision, moderate weight |
| Magnum | Magnum cartridges, larger frame rifles |
| Bull | Benchrest, heavy target use |
| Custom | Specify muzzle diameter up to 1.15" |
Carbon Six threads barrels for virtually every modern bolt-action platform:
If you're building on a Remage or Savage action and want to self-install, they provide informational videos. They also sell barrel nuts separately.
Prefit barrels come threaded and ready for your specific action. Available in most common calibers (.20 and .25 are custom orders with extra fees).
Blank barrels offer maximum flexibility: choose your caliber from 20+ options, have it chambered to spec, and send it to your gunsmith. Custom calibers require reamer rental ($85 fee).
Carbon Six offers threading and brake services separately. Details available on their threading & brakes page.
