Larockclub

The ArkLaTex Gem & Mineral Society, operating as Larock Club, is a nonprofit organization in Shreveport, Louisiana dedicated to earth sciences and lapidary arts education. Note: This is NOT a shooting range or gun club.

Larock Club is a gem, mineral, and fossil enthusiast organization that serves the Shreveport community and surrounding ArkLaTex region. The society focuses on geological education, lapidary craftsmanship, and mineral collecting.

The club organizes and sponsors:

• •Field Trips - Gem, mineral, and fossil hunting expeditions for members
• •Educational Lectures - Presentations on lapidary arts and earth sciences
• •Workshops & Demonstrations - Hands-on training in gem cutting, polishing, and jewelry making
• •Annual Gem & Mineral Show - A major event featuring special exhibits, demonstrations, and vendors offering fine jewels, gems, minerals, and fossils
• •Community Outreach - Guest speakers and demonstrations available for local organizations upon request

Monthly meetings are held at Sci-Port Discovery Center, 820 Clyde Fank Parkway, Shreveport, LA, typically on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 PM.

The organization welcomes both experienced collectors and beginners interested in geology and lapidary arts. Members compete in monthly competitions featuring finished cabochons and completed jewelry pieces.
