Firearms Range & Clothing

FRC Firearms Range & Clothing operates Louisiana's largest indoor shooting facility at 9378 S Choctaw Drive in Baton Rouge. The range has been awarded a 5-star rating from the National Shooting Sports Foundation for six consecutive years and is the only range in Louisiana to receive this recognition.

Range Safety & Professional Staff - Every staff member is a certified firearms instructor - Most instructors have military and law enforcement backgrounds - Range Safety Officers (RSOs) maintain a dedicated station near the firing line at all times - State-of-the-art ventilation system keeps the facility clean and comfortable

Shooting Setup & Rules - 15 fully equipped 25-yard lanes - Allows pistols, rifles, and shotguns - Qualified shooters can perform holster work with RSO approval - No restrictions on shooting speed—"just keep your rounds on the target" - $25 per person, per day (day pass, not hourly) - Handgun rentals: $10 plus ammunition cost - Long gun rentals: $10 plus ammunition cost - Hearing and eye protection: $3.99

Firearm & Ammunition Restrictions FRC maintains specific safety standards: - All firearms must have iron sights or optics - No 3D printed receivers or suppressors - Long guns must have brace or stock - Glock switches prohibited - No penetrating ammunition (tungsten core, black tip); green tip 5.56mm acceptable - No tracer rounds - Shotgun ammo: 00, 000 Buck, or Slug only

Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit Classes - Initial permit class: 9.5 hours - Renewal class: 9.5 hours - Women's-only options available with female instructors - Covers nomenclature, safe handling, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, conflict avoidance, legal use of deadly force, shooting positions, child access prevention, cleaning, and range qualification - Bring your own pistol and 50 rounds, or rent from FRC

FRC stocks ammunition for most handgun calibers, hearing and eye protection, and FRC branded merchandise. If you don't have a pistol for class, FRC provides rental options.
