Founded in 1975, Hackberry Rod & Gun has established itself as the largest and most respected hunting and fishing lodge on the Gulf Coast. Located in Hackberry, Louisiana—known as the "Speckled Trout Capital of The World"—our facility sits on the shores of Calcasieu Lake and serves as the premier destination for saltwater anglers and waterfowl hunters from across North America.

Our light-tackle saltwater fishing program focuses on three primary species:

Fishing trips originate from Lake Calcasieu and extend into the Gulf of Mexico, taking advantage of the region's food-rich marshes and fertile fishing grounds. Our experienced guides have decades of combined knowledge of these waters.

Guided duck hunts with retrievers are available seasonally, typically with bookings opening in mid-August when seasons are set. The abundant waterfowl and pristine marsh habitat make this an exceptional hunting destination.
