Operation Reboot Outdoors connects veterans, law enforcement officers, and active service members to the Maine outdoors through professionally guided hunting and fishing missions. Based in Turner, ME, with a 100-acre Maine Guide Outfitter property in Byron, they've served over 811 veterans and completed 234 hunting missions and 310 fishing trips since 2019.
The core mission is clear: give veterans and first responders purpose, healing, and camaraderie through the hunt.
- •Deer Hunts — The flagship program. Typically 5-day hunts throughout Central to Western Maine, timed around wind direction changes. Hunters sit tree stands or ground blinds up to 6 hours daily. Registered Maine guides either drop you off or hunt alongside you. Participants need a Maine Big Game License and any-deer permit (Zone 16). ORO provides guides, food, and lodging.
- •Turkey Hunts — May through June season. Day trips for Maine residents, 3–5 days for non-residents. Morning hunts in ground blinds, afternoons spent scouting roosting locations and spot-and-stalk prep. Shotguns with turkey choke available on request. State Small Game License with turkey permit required.
