Shane spent 10 years as a tool and die maker before deciding to combine his two passions: the outdoors and art. In 2010, he attended The Colorado Institute of Taxidermy, then opened Breath of Life in 2011.

He still takes that seriously. Shane attends taxidermy seminars and competes in competitions regularly to keep improving.
