Pheasant Ridge Hunt Club has been operating since 1999 as a family-run preserve in Imlay City, between Capac and Brown City. The operation spans 300 acres of groomed fields, CRP-style habitat, and rolling cover specifically designed for pheasants and chukar. Their birds are raised from day-old chicks in over two acres of spacious flight pens, producing strong, hard-flying birds.
The club offers pheasants and chukar during an extended season running August 15 through April 30 — one of Michigan's longest hunting seasons. No hunting license is required to hunt at the preserve.
- •Guided Hunts — Professional guides and trained hunting dogs work your group across the property
- •DIY Hunts — Bring your own dog and hunt independently across 300 acres
- •European-Style Shoots — Traditional driven hunts with beaters and high-flying birds, ideal for groups
- •Corporate Retreats — Host team events at their lodge (speakers, TV, pool table, grill)
| Service | Cost |
|---|---|
| Pheasants | $30 each (5-bird min), $27 each (10+), $33 for roosters only |
| Chukar | $150 for 7 birds, $21 each additional |
| Guide + Dog (4 hours) | $75 |

- •Hunt Times: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
European hunts require a 30-person minimum with 50% deposit, but they handle lunch and bird cleaning. Call ahead if renting shotguns — supplies are limited.
- •What to bring: Hunter orange (blaze orange) is required. Bring 1-2 boxes of ammo. Recommended loads: 12 or 20 gauge, #6 early season to #4 for late-season wild birds. High-velocity loads work best for long flushes.
- •No hunting license needed. No alcohol during hunts, but you can enjoy it in the lodge afterward. Hunters must stay on Pheasant Ridge property — no access to bordering land.
- •Staff: Six experienced guides including Mark June (manager), Andrew Galante, Jeff Bickley, Ozzie Solis, Tanner Bellinger, and Kyle Hug.
"Pheasant Ridge is hands-down one of the most accommodating clubs we've ever visited. From start to finish — questions, the hunt, and bird cleaning — the entire experience was first-class."
- •Location: 7677 Martin Rd., Imlay City, MI 48444 — convenient to Lapeer, Metamora, Romeo, Almont, Oxford, and Metro Detroit.
