Ozark Wings is an upland bird hunting preserve in Missouri, set on fields of milo, pearl millet, sunflower, soybean and ragweed. The birds are bobwhite quail, chukar and ringneck pheasant, all raised on the property. The preserve says its quail grow to nearly a pound.
- •Hunts are sold as half-day packages for one hunter, and two can be combined into a full day.
- •Birds are placed in the fields before the hunter arrives, and additional coveys are kept out in the fields at all times.
- •Guided hunts come with a guide and two or three trained gundogs. The preserve keeps more than sixteen dogs, including Brittany Spaniels it breeds.
- •Shotgun shells are sold on site. Shot is limited to sizes 6 through 8, high-brass duck loads are not allowed, and every hunter wears some orange.
The preserve also offers lodging and an online shop, and sells flight-ready birds, chicks and eggs.
