Own Rim Walker?
01 // DETAILS
Full description and what we offer
Rim Walker LLC creates custom hunting tools on the Billings rims—hand-forged knives, leather sheaths, and antler cribbage boards designed to be passed down. This isn't mass production. Every piece gets personal attention from design through completion.
They forge in high-carbon steels (1084, 1095, 80CRV2) using their own charcoal and an early 1900s blower from the family homestead. Each blade is edge-quenched, hand-finished, and built with aggressive jimping and full tangs. Drop point hunters run 3" to 5.25", with options for burl handles, antler, Ultratex grips, and custom hardware. No two knives are identical.
Their leatherwork uses Hermann Oak Grade A leather, tiger thread, and saddle stitching—prepped for water resistance. FROG system sheaths offer flexible carry options. They also hand-stitch exotic inlays like rattlesnake skin overlays, and recently added Henry Golden Boy stock covers with Nile crocodile inlay.
Cribbage boards made from elk or deer antlers (including trophy antlers you provide) feature spent .22 shell pegs and custom hole layouts. They run 2-3 rows with 61 or 121 hole runs.

Lifetime Support: As long as you own a Rim Walker piece, they'll service and support it at no cost (shipping only). If a piece is damaged beyond repair, they'll rebuild it at standard rates.
It starts with your vision. They create a handle replica to size to your hand, or require your knife for sheath fitting. Every decision point—materials, colors, critical steps—they loop you back in. Build timelines depend on current workload, but they communicate constantly. They've scrapped builds that didn't meet their own standards and started over (no charge, just transparency).
"We relish the relationships we build while working with you on designing and ultimately creating your vision."
If your vision falls outside their scope, they'll point you to other smiths who can handle it. Currently open for new builds.
