Location details and information

Park County Rod & Gun Club has been serving Park County sportsmen and women for over a century. What started as a sportsman's organization in the first half of the 1900s is now a fully volunteer-run facility offering shooting opportunities for hunters, competitive shooters, and families year-round.

The club operates on a simple principle: preserve fair chase hunting, support equitable allocation of fish and game resources, and give the community a safe place to shoot.

$52 per calendar year covers the member, spouse, and all minor children. Memberships run January 1 through December 31, and you can purchase them at:

  • Yellowstone Sporting Goods (1106 W Park St #22, Livingston)
  • Livingston Ace Hardware
  • Yellowstone Gifts & Sports
  • Murdochs in Livingston

Members 18+ are required to have their own membership. Anyone under 18 must be directly supervised by an adult.

Open year-round, sunrise to sunset to members. The facility is closed during scheduled events.

The club maintains dedicated ranges and committees for:

  • High Power Rifle (Committee Chair: Elliot Engbers)
  • .22 Rifle/Rimfire (Committee Chair: Bruce Krone)
  • Pistol (Committee Chair: Ashley Sites)
  • Shotgun/Trap (Committee Chair: Rick Anderson)
  • Muzzle Load, Black Powder & Silhouette (Committee Chair: Paul Dowell)
  • Archery (Committee Chair: Sid Amaro)

This is non-negotiable at Park County Rod & Gun:

  • Eye and ear protection required on all firing lines
  • No shooting when someone is downrange—red lights indicate when the range is in use
  • All firearms pointed downrange only
  • No steel targets (ricochets) or glass targets
  • No tracer rounds or incendiary weapons
  • No alcohol before or during range use
  • Gate locked upon entry and exit (except during sanctioned events)

"Every member is responsible for the safe and proper operation of the club facilities."

You must check downrange for animals or people before firing. Keep your firearm action open and unloaded until ready to shoot. If livestock appears in your line of fire, herd them out before resuming.

The club schedules trap shoots, black powder competitions, fun shoots, sight-in days, and hunter safety training throughout the year. The full calendar is determined each November at the annual membership meeting. Special event requests must be presented at that meeting.

Members can bring authorized guests only to club-sponsored events like trap shoots, hunter safety training, and fun shoots. General range use and sighting-in are member-only.

Youngsters are always welcome, but this is a working shooting range—not a playground. Close supervision is required. All pets must be leashed or under control. The club's commitment to preserving hunting traditions and fish/game resources runs deep, and membership requires a clean record on fish and game violations.
