The ranch sits next to Ted Turner's Blue Creek Ranch, where thousands of buffalo roam the Sandhills—a testament to the habitat quality that produces trophy-class animals.
This is where The Rackett separates itself from typical upland operations. Their driven hunts are British-style classic shoots centered around historic Bison Peak. Hunters rotate through 10 stations across a 100-acre course over rolling prairie and cottonwood groves.
The Promatic Flurry Clay Pigeon Thrower can throw over 100 clays in under 60 seconds at 45 mph to 400+ feet—perfect for warming up before a driven hunt.
Driven Hunt Packages Include: - 1,000 birds per 8 hunters (pheasants & chukars) - 2 nights luxury accommodations - Gourmet dining - Guided field hunt after the driven shoot - Access to clay pigeon shoot and 4 trap ranges - European shoot training
The seven-month upland season offers guided hunts with no bag limit on 27,000 acres. Groups of up to 5 people hunt pheasant, chukar, quail, and sharptail grouse with trained pointer dogs (German shorthairs, English pointers, pointing labs, and the signature dog Butch—a Wirehair Griffon pointer). Kids are welcome and encouraged; they offer 2-hour kids fun hunt packages.
Blue Creek and ranch ponds add habitat variety. Both wild and controlled shooting areas extend the season.
The Rackett operates as a full resort, not just a day-hunt operation. They're the only luxury lodge offering 1, 2, or 3-day hunts from Denver with included transportation. You leave Denver early with light breakfast provided, arrive for a full day hunt, and return relaxed.
Accommodations: - The Main Lodge - Private Cabins - Gourmet meals included - Luxury amenities
Additional Activities: - Golf - Fishing - Summer vacation packages - Family reunions and getaways - Corporate team-building retreats
The Rackett specializes in corporate events with flexible scheduling. Exclusive use of all facilities means groups control their itinerary. They'll customize activities to appeal to diverse attendees—not everyone hunts, so clay shooting, fishing, and golf round out corporate packages.
Club guns available in lighter weights for young hunters with minimal recoil. The 2-hour Kids Fun Hunt introduces children to shooting in a structured, safe environment. Family reunions combine hunting, shooting, and lodge relaxation.
