Danny and Charlotte Sons started raising beef cattle in 1968 with their family's farming and ranching operation. In 1974, they ran the cattle portion of a finishing feedlot in Hagerman, New Mexico. The operation shifted in 2001 when they purchased and began developing a registered herd of Black Angus and Brangus cattle. Today, their children and grandchildren help manage the herd and processing—this is a personal family operation, not a corporate structure.
You purchase a share of the live animal, not pre-cut retail packages. Options include:

Free delivery within 180 miles of Roswell, NM on full and half beef orders. Quarter and smaller portions require pickup at 67 Yakima Road, Dexter, NM.
Registered Black Angus Beef — $8.99/lb - Superior genetics developed over years of selective breeding - Premium beef qualities
Brangus Beef — $7.99/lb - Hybrid breed (5/8 Angus, 3/8 Brahman) developed in the 1930s-40s - Hardy breed with improved beef qualities - Better suited to Southern climate conditions - Cost-effective option with solid genetics

D & C handles every step:

The entire cost (deposit + per-pound price) includes: the beef share, harvesting charges, refrigeration/hanging fees, and custom processing.

D & C maintains limited stock—approximately 40 head reach processing weight throughout the year at different times. Beef sells first-come, first-served. When you submit a deposit, it attaches to an available animal. If no beef is available immediately, they record your request and contact you when the next is ready.
Important: Deposits are non-refundable and lapse 30 days after notification that your order is ready for pickup.
