American Legion Post 116 in Fuquay-Varina has served as a gathering place for veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces since its charter in 1922. The Post welcomes anyone who has honorably served in the U.S. military, as well as those currently serving.

The Post operates an M35A2 "Deuce and a Half" military truck that participates in community parades, memorials, static displays, and periodic USO water deliveries—rekindling memories for older veterans while introducing military history to younger members.
