Ludden Sportsmen Club

The Ludden Sportsmen Club is a well-established conservation and sportsmen's organization in Ludden, North Dakota, dedicated to wildlife habitat preservation and recreational shooting activities. Founded in 1951, the club has grown to over 500 members and operates multiple shooting ranges and youth programs.

The club maintains three dedicated shooting venues:

• •Rifle & Pistol Range – For centerfire and handgun shooting practice
• •Trap Shooting Range – Dedicated facility open to 4-H and high school trap teams, with shells and clay pigeons provided
• •Archery Range – Features 3-D targets, elevated shooting platforms, and marked yardage stations for multiple target boxes

Ludden Sportsmen Club is heavily invested in youth development and outdoor education:

• •Designated Youth Hunting Land – 144 acres reserved exclusively for hunters 16 years old and younger
• •Youth Fishing Derby – Typically held in January; all participants receive fishing rods and gear
• •4-H & High School Programs – Trap and archery teams receive club support, with recent state and national competition placements
• •Youth Pheasant Restoration – Club raises and releases 200–600 pheasant birds annually

Beyond shooting sports, the club actively manages wildlife habitat, having planted over 20,000 trees since 2017 through the ND Heritage Fund. The organization also maintains duck nesting habitats, food plots for wildlife, and provides winter feeding support during harsh seasons. Annual community events include highway ditch cleanings, sweet corn feeds, and the triennial "RACK IT UP" hunting and trophy show fundraiser.

The club operates as a membership organization with annual dues of $20. Monthly meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month (except July), with both board and membership meetings. Membership provides access to all club facilities and member-exclusive events including the annual oyster/chili feed and sweethearts supper.
