Full description and what we offer
Monsoon Tactical started because two things aligned: passion for firearms and a gap in the market. Founder Vinny DeYarmon spent 6 years honing pistol smithing skills, particularly in polymer handgun reconstruction. Co-owner Zach McGowan brings sales, marketing, and customer service expertise. Together they built a gunsmithing operation that handles machining, Cerakoting, and stippling under one roof.
Stippling & Grip Work - Custom grip stippling for improved control - Ergo modifications on polymer frames
Machining & Custom Cuts - Optic cuts (S&W Bodyguard 2.0 cuts available, $185–$355) - Porting and compensator work - Serrations and slide windows - Chamfers and nose cuts - General custom machining for pistol modifications
Cerakote Finishing - Full firearm coating with color options from Cerakote's H Series catalog - Multi-color and MILSPEC camo patterns - Bare metal options for customers coating slides elsewhere
Builds & Assembly - 2011/1911 custom builds - MSP ProSpec PDP builds - P1T ProSpec M&P builds - Trigger and parts installation
Monsoon Tactical developed a queue system that keeps your firearm in your hands for most of the lead time. Here's the real-world timeline:
Lead times are estimates and fluctuate based on workload. They update the site when things change, but understand that sickness, quality control, or industry events can push timelines.
Shipping Reality: - Complete firearms and serialized frames must ship overnight (federal law) - Slides, barrels, and grip modules can ship ground - Return shipping is covered by the amount paid at checkout - You choose the carrier for inbound; they return via UPS
Monsoon Tactical cannot certify work for carry, duty, or self-defense use. Any such application is at your discretion.
Porting Options: - Chunk/HEL Port: Works like a compensator—drives the gun down and resets the slide faster to your intended target - Lucky 7's: Smoothest shooting package overall; softens the entire recoil cycle
Return/Refund Policy: - 20% restocking fee on unopened products - NO RETURNS on stippling, machining, or gunsmithing work — all custom work is final - Cancellations refunded as store credit if you haven't shipped yet or are over estimated lead time
California DOJ Roster Note: If your firearm isn't on the roster, slides and barrels don't require FFL shipment. Just confirm with your local FFL that the firearm can be returned to the same shop it came from.
