North Ridgeville Shooting Sports is a 501c3 organization built to support youth shotgun shooting in North Ridgeville and Lorain County. It formed the North Ridgeville High School trap team in spring 2017, joining the Ohio State High School Clay Target League, and added a Lorain County Youth Trap Team through the Scholastic Clay Target Program in 2020. Coaches are trained through the league, and all athletes complete safety training before shooting.
The OSHSCTL team is open to students in grades 8-12, with 7th grade considered case by case, and competes as a virtual league, shooting scores at home and comparing them online against other Ohio high school teams, with a state tournament in June and a national tournament in July. The SCTP team is open to grades 5-12 and requires ATA and AIM membership. Trap and skeet practice takes place at Sportsman's Gun and Reel Club in Lorain, Ohio, while sporting clays practice is held at South Cuyahoga Sportsmen's Association in Medina, Ohio.
