Location details and information
Sportsman's Hunting Club was incorporated in 1947, making it Oklahoma's first and longest-running hunting club. Founded by a group of hunters from different backgrounds who shared one priority—wildlife conservation and quality hunting—that focus hasn't wavered in 74+ years.
The club owns or leases approximately 50,000 acres across 9 Oklahoma counties, ranging from northwestern Oklahoma near the Great Salt Plains to northeastern Osage County, with additional properties throughout southwest, central, and southeastern Oklahoma. This geographic spread means more variety than any other club in the state.
What you can hunt: - Deer (including managed trophy properties with Kansas sand hills genetics) - Turkey - Waterfowl and geese - Quail and dove - Hogs and predators - Small game and pheasants (northern leases)
Many leases include ponds for fishing—bass, catfish and more. Terrain varies by property: woods, creeks, agricultural fields, bottomlands, canyons, and river bottoms give hunters diverse options.
Members can book hunting, fishing, scouting, and lodge reservations 24/7 through their web-based system. The club maintains over 70 total beds across multiple leases, all available to members at no additional cost. Their flagship property borders the Great Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge near Jet, Oklahoma, featuring a full hunting lodge with TV, washer/dryer, and kitchen facilities. Goose pits and decoys are provided for Jet area hunters.
New members get equal access. Unlike many clubs, the newest member has the same opportunity for prime hunting spots as anyone else—the system deliberately maintains small hunter numbers per property.
Memberships are family-based with no additional fees for spouses, children, and grandkids (within age restrictions). All lodges are included at no extra cost. The club has an administrative staff and volunteer board focused on member success.
Sportsman's works directly with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation on game management. Several properties are enrolled in the DMAP (Deer Management Assistance Program), with at least one lease maintaining an onsite biologist. The club also partners with the Oklahoma Youth Hunting & Shooting Program to provide hunting opportunities for young Oklahomans who might otherwise have no access to these experiences.
