The Manheim Sportsmen's Association started in 1930 when local hunters gathered at the American House to promote hunting and fishing in Lancaster County. After regrouping post-WWII and reorganizing in 1960, the club became what it is today—a working sportsmen's organization focused on conservation, education, and marksmanship.
- •Indoor Rifle Range - Upgraded heating and air purification system (2014-2015) designed to remove dust and smoke. Two infra-red heaters installed for year-round use.
- •Outdoor 25-Yard Rifle Range - Improved with underground drainage system and pre-cast concrete wall sections (2009). Added parking lot with capacity for ~20 cars (2014).
- •Sighting-In Services - Help getting rifles zeroed before hunting season
- •Hunter Education Classes - Formal hunter trapper education instruction
- •Youth Programs - Lancaster County Conservation School, annual Youth Field Day, Kids Fish Derby, Boy Scout Field Day
- •Women-on-Target - NRA-sponsored clinics for women learning rifles, handguns, and shotguns (ongoing since 2008)
- •Card Access Facility - Secure member access Mon-Sat 10am-8pm, Sun 12pm-6pm
The club has actively maintained and upgraded facilities for over 60 years, with major improvements to the roof, siding, parking, and range equipment as recently as 2016.
This isn't a commercial range. It's a conservation-focused member organization that works directly with the Pennsylvania Game and Fish Commission on trout stocking, game refuge management, and rabbit trapping programs. They've hosted everything from Bicentennial parades in 1962 to modern women's shooting clinics.
The club maintains active memberships in the National Rifle Association and Lancaster County Federated Sportsmen, positioning them as integrated into the broader regional hunting community.
