Prairie Tactical suppressors started where they're used most—in the field. Founder Kenny Waldner launched the company in 2017 with a clear mission: build the lightest, strongest, most accurate silencers possible. By May 2022, demand had grown enough to move into a dedicated manufacturing facility in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Prairie Tactical manufactures suppressors across three caliber categories:
- •Rimfire silencers for .22 and other small-bore shooting
- •Centerfire Rifle suppressors including the popular PTAC-30L and PTAC-46MSS
- •Centerfire Pistol suppressors with new models like the PTAC-36MSS and PTAC-30M
Specific models getting attention include the PTAC-BOLT (featured in TFB's Silencer Saturday #242) and the PTAC-30L (Silencer Saturday #255).
Every component off their CNC machines is inspected and gauged to standards so exacting that their machinists had to build custom fixtures and gauges just to meet specifications. This attention to detail shows in the tight concentricity tolerances—reducing point of impact shift means less time dialing in your firearm after installation.
- •All silencers are magnum-rated and tested to handle the bumps and bruises of actual hunting and range use. Lightweight construction without strength gets nowhere in the field. Balance is everything.
Suppressors are shipped direct to your door with fulfillment by Capitol Armory. Prairie Tactical operates a dealer network and actively accepts applications from gun shops wanting to stock their products.
