Hotsprings SD

Fall River Gun Club & Shooting Complex sits on 160 acres of South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks land about 2.5 miles north of Maverick Junction on SD Highway 79, roughly 30 minutes south of Hot Springs proper.

The club was organized in January 2010 with one goal: establish a shooting range. Members spent time scouting locations and keeping the organization together. That effort paid off when the Department of Game, Fish & Parks got involved. The state traded a 160-acre parcel with a private landowner to acquire the current property adjacent to Highway 79. Range plans were drawn up and bids were managed by the Department.

• •First Sunday & Monday of each month
• •Following Monday & Tuesday

Those reserved days are for members only. The range closes during winter storms.

Education is a core part of the club's mission. Members get opportunities to learn firearms safety, understand their rights as United States citizens, and practice regularly to sharpen their skills. The club actively teaches and encourages safe firearm handling and responsible ownership.
