Full description and what we offer
Carter's Powder Coating is a metal finishing shop in Elizabethton, TN that specializes in powder coating and sand blasting for customers across East Tennessee. They handle industrial equipment, aircraft restoration, automotive builds, motorcycle projects, and custom metal work.
Powder coating isn't paint. Finely ground particles of pigment and resin are electrostatically charged and sprayed onto parts, then baked in a curing oven until they fuse into a solid finish. The result is tough, durable, and scratch-resistant—tougher than traditional paint and more environmentally friendly since no solvents are used.
"It looks like paint but it acts like armor. It's tough, looks great, and lasts a long time."
The finish prevents corrosion, cracking, and chipping that occurs with traditional paint. Powder coating is now the fastest-growing finishing technology in North America, used on hundreds of products most people encounter daily.
Powder Coating Oven - 10 feet wide × 10 feet high × 30 feet deep - Handles aircraft and automotive parts, patio furniture, metal art, household items - Consistently produces uniform, durable finishes
Sand Blasting Equipment - Glass bead cabinet: 4′ × 4′ × 4′ closed-loop system for precision work - Portable sand blaster: capable of handling car frames and large equipment
They also offer three ceramic coating colors for exhaust work: Grey, Jet Black, and Satin Silver.

Size is not a limiting factor. Ovens handle 3-foot, 7-foot, and 30-foot parts. If you can transport it, they can coat it.
Most jobs complete in 3 days, depending on part size and color selection. Complex multi-color work or large frames may take longer—call for specifics.
Unlike liquid paint, powder coating produces negligible VOC emissions and virtually no pollution. Oversprayed powder can be recovered and reused, meaning minimal waste and easy, safe disposal.
