Full description and what we offer
Fortis Self Defense teaches Krav Maga—the fighting system adopted by the Israeli Defense Forces—plus women's-specific self-defense and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fundamentals. Founded in 2018 by husband-and-wife team Allen and Jodi, the gym operates inside Carbon Performance at 112 Rand Place.
Krav Maga at Fortis focuses on handling real threats with techniques anyone can learn, regardless of skill level. You'll pick up hand-to-hand combat, instinctive defensive tactics, rapid disarming, and powerful kicks—all while building strength, conditioning, and confidence. The program combines Krav Maga with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and modern self-defense systems.
Women's Self-Defense Program
Jodi leads a curriculum designed specifically for women, rotating through real-life scenarios women actually face. The program builds on her 12+ years of martial arts training and 5+ years teaching women's self-defense.
Instructors
Allen holds a Black Belt in Krav Maga (Krav Maga Alliance certified) and a purple belt in BJJ. He's been teaching for over 7 years. Jodi is a black belt Krav Maga student and BJJ purple belt with advanced training in karate—she developed the women's curriculum from the ground up.
Beyond Regular Classes
Fortis also handles corporate seminars, private lessons, church group training, and team-building workshops. All intro classes are free.
Mon-Thurs 6–8 PM, Saturday 8:30–10:30 AM. Located inside Carbon Performance in Rand Place, Franklin, TN 37064.
Proud member of Krav Maga Alliance. Allen passed a full-contact fight test against a certified Black Belt (Krav Maga, Taekwondo, BJJ) before earning his instructor certification.
