American Action Shooting Association is a shooting sports organization founded in July 1989 on principles the club traces to the framers of the U.S. Constitution, citing George Washington and Thomas Jefferson on the place of firearms in American life.
AASA's stated mission is to promote safe, family-oriented shooting and the responsible use and handling of firearms, and to introduce and educate the public in firearm safety. A stated goal of the association is to acquire and establish shooting range properties equipped with permanent steel and other target systems for use by AASA members, along with camping and recreational facilities for members and their families.
The association maintains its own range rules for competitions and affiliated club shoots, and publishes range officer commands documentation for its members and shoots.
