American Action Shooting Assoc

American Action Shooting Association was founded in July 1989 on principles of firearms rights and responsible shooting culture. AASA runs a family-oriented shooting club that hosts regular matches, fun shoots, and competitive events across handguns, shotguns, and pistol caliber carbines (PCCs).

Match Format & Competition - Falling steel target format—fast, accurate runs with instant feedback - Fun shoots and organized competitions throughout the year - Shootoff format based on "iron sharpening iron" principles - Events for stock guns and .22 caliber firearms

Unlike some shooting formats, AASA's approach is neither offensive nor defensive—it's competitive but socially acceptable and media-friendly. The falling steel format is spectator-friendly and easy to score.

Members support an organization historically dedicated to introducing new shooters to the sport. AASA recognizes multiple shooting organizations, divisions, classes, and firearm types. You can start an AASA club in your area to grow participation locally.
