Location details and information

Provo has two shooting facilities in Provo Canyon—about 2 miles up Provo Canyon Road, then 3/4 mile up Squaw Peak Road. They operate independently but serve different shooting disciplines.

A volunteer-run membership organization focused entirely on shotgun sports. No experience required—they'll teach newcomers the fundamentals.

Membership costs $20/year and supports the all-volunteer operation. They welcome corporate groups, scout troops, churches, and anyone else.

  • Hours: Wednesdays 5:30pm–9:30pm (last call 9pm), Saturdays 9am–3pm. Hours adjust with weather and shooter volume.

Range Setup: - 10 handgun lanes (7 yards, 25 yards, 50 feet, 50 yards) - 10 covered rifle lanes (50 feet, 25 yards, 50 yards, 100 yards) - 4 additional covered rifle lanes (50 feet, 25 yards) - Concrete benches, rifle racks, concrete floors

Open Shooting Pricing: - Residents: $3/visit | Non-residents: $5/visit - Punch cards available (no expiration): 5 punches ($13 resident/$22 non-resident) up to 20 punches

  • Group Reservations: $25–$35 per two-hour block (rifle or handgun range)

Winter Hours (Nov–Mar): Wed & Fri 2pm–dusk, Sat 10am–4pm Summer Hours (Apr–Oct): Wed & Fri 4pm–dusk, Sat 10am–6pm (2-hour limit on open shooting)

  • What to Bring: Unloaded firearm in case with action open, paper targets, hearing/eye protection. Targets (25¢), earplugs (25¢), and eye protection ($8) sold on-site.

Shell casings can be retrieved by shooters—whatever's left becomes Provo City property.

  • Provo Gun Club is shotgun-only; membership organization with public hours
  • Provo Rifle and Pistol Range: 2-hour limit for open shooting
  • Eye and ear protection required
  • Firearms must be unloaded and cased until on firing line
  • Ammunition not sold on-site; bring your own
  • Non-hours use is prohibited
