Boone's Solace Taxidermy is a specialized preparation studio operating in Woodinville, WA (30 minutes north of Seattle), run by Maggie D. Fedorov. The studio opened officially in Summer 2025 and focuses on museum-quality taxidermy, pet memorials, and scientific specimen preparation.
This isn't trophy taxidermy. Maggie creates work rooted in scientific and anatomical knowledge guided by reverence for the specimens. Her practice centers on:

All specimens are ethically sourced—roadkill, hunted specimens, and salvaged materials. This approach draws attention to industrial animal byproduct and road waste while questioning what we consider "ethical" in how we treat the earth.

Intake appointments take approximately 30 minutes. Complete the relevant Service Agreement first—intakes are scheduled in the order agreements are received.
1. Pet Preservation Service Agreement — For memorializing beloved pets 2. General Preservation Service Agreement — For game animals or wild specimens (must include salvage permit)

Maggie's work resists spectacle in favor of intimacy. Installations are tender in scale and detail, designed to slow viewers down and create space for contemplation and care. Her role is not to speak for nature, but to co-create with it—bearing witness, asking difficult questions, and modeling spaces where grief and beauty can coexist.
