Prophet River Firearms started as a web hosting company in 1994. By 2002, founder Clayton Smiley wanted a Cooper rifle and couldn't find one in Canada—so he imported one himself. What started as helping friends quickly became a business model. In January 2008, Prophet River reborn as a Canadian firearms operation. By July 2008, they expanded into inventory. Today they operate a full retail location in Lloydminster, Alberta and serve customers across Canada.
Prophet River's core service is US-to-Canada firearms importing. This isn't casual—they handle:
- •All border paperwork on both US and Canadian sides
- •Firearms registration in Canada
- •PAL/FAC transfers to your license
- •Shipping by mail, courier, or bus to your location
"We do all the appropriate paperwork on both sides of the border in order to legally get the firearm into Canada and into our customer's hands."
