Custer Firearms Training, LLC: Academy

Custer Firearms Training (CFT) is a firearms instruction company in Custer, Washington, built around small, hands-on classes — usually four students or fewer — so the training fits the shooter instead of a script.

The lineup runs a clear progression:

• •Basic Handgun ($200, ~2 hrs): safety, firearm mechanics, grip, stance, and sight picture with both iron sights and red dots. Around 100 rounds, and you leave ready to practice on your own.
• •Defensive Handgun — Weekly ($100/mo, four 90-minute sessions): drawing from the holster, moving and shooting, and defensive mindset, with a new skill built each week. Flexible weekday and Saturday times.
• •Defensive Rifle — Weekly ($125/mo, four 90-minute sessions): running a slung rifle alongside a holstered handgun, moving and shooting, building week over week.
• •Intermediate & Advanced Competition — Weekly: range time and coaching to sharpen match skills (advanced is waitlist-based).
• •Private Instruction ($100, 1 hr): one-on-one, beginner through advanced, focused entirely on you.

CFT also runs the safety check required to compete at Custer Sportsmen's Club — covering Steel Challenge, USPSA, Concealed Carry, MultiGun, and Practical Rifle — giving students a direct path from their first range day to the line at a real match.
