Full description and what we offer
Charles Casey opened this hunt outfitter in 1983 in Minter, Alabama, and it's still family-run today. Charles owns and guides. His son Jackson and Tyler Dunn guide full-time. Leigh Casey—Charles' wife—handles cooking. Daily housekeeping rounds things out. This matters because you're not working with rotation guides; you're working with people who know every acre and every animal pattern.
They operate 6,500 acres in the Black Belt region of southwest Alabama (Dallas County). The Black Belt is named for its nutrient-rich soils and has a reputation for holding quality whitetail and turkey populations. The property includes hardwoods, streams, and managed green fields—the "Back Field" alone is 7 acres of open ground surrounded by timber.
Land gets managed year-round for wildlife. No trophy fees exist. They limit active hunters to maximum 9 for deer, maximum 2 for turkey at any time. This isn't a club; there's no annual membership. They book hunts hunt-by-hunt.
75% of their hunters are repeat customers. That statistic matters more than marketing copy.

All hunts are fully guided. You get:
Eastern Wild Turkeys are abundant on the property. Alabama's hunting laws make turkey pursuit "fair chase"—no hunting over feed like corn. Decoys have been permitted since 2006. The challenge is real, but success rates are high with proper guidance.
Turkey season generally runs late March through early May. You'll hunt in Zone B (Alabama's regional classification). You need:
Cellular signal is poor, so buy your license online before arriving.
Central Alabama stays mild through most of the season:
Snow and ice are rare in Minter but happen occasionally. Charles makes the call on whether conditions are safe for hunting that day. Pop-up showers occur, so rain gear is standard.
This is 100% fair chase on privately owned and leased land. No over-harvesting. No pressure on wildlife because group sizes stay small. Camp rules exist and matter—read them before booking.
