Full description and what we offer
Water Valley Lodge operates a hunting outfitter in rural Choctaw County, Alabama, offering guided hunts across multiple game species and seasons. The property spans over 30,000 acres with diverse terrain: clear cuts, winter food plots, hardwood stands, pine plantations, swamp bottoms, and mixed timber hills.
Alabama's whitetail season runs October 15 through January 31, with the famous January Rut drawing serious hunters. Water Valley uses a variety of stand types:
Hunters can pursue rifle or bow hunting with guides handling location and setup.
Turkey hunts frequently achieve 100% success rates (varies yearly), with guides providing calling and bird location. Multiple kills during a single hunt are common.
February is the best month for hog hunting when deer season pressure ends and guides focus exclusively on hog work. Year-round varmint and predator hunting is also available with no season restrictions.
Quail season runs October 15 through March 31, and can be combined with deer or turkey hunts.
The lodge accommodates up to 58 guests across three facilities:
| Facility | Capacity | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Main lodge house | 10 | Private baths, dining room with fireplace |
| Bunkhouse | 28 | Bunk-style sleeping |
| Additional rooms | 20 | Private full baths in most |
All overnight packages include dinner, breakfast, lunch, refreshments, guide services, dogs (for hog hunts), on-site transportation, and bird cleaning.
Over 200 winter food plots are planted annually, with additional spring and summer plantings to support wildlife through dry months.
Gun rental and shells are available for an additional fee. Non-hunting guests welcome with extra charge.
