Shady Grove Outfitters operates out of Samson in the heart of Alabama's peanut farming country. Their main lodge is the original 1800s farmhouse from the plantation, and they control 38,000 acres of private land spanning three counties with nine miles of river frontage on the Pea River and Choctawhatchee River.
Every package includes lodging in their cabin (sleeps 24), meals, transportation to and from stands, and meat processing. Their guides are semi-guided—meaning your guide takes you to the stand, tracks and recovers your game, handles skinning and quartering, and preps everything for travel home. Meals are two per day: breakfast and dinner, heavy on Southern country cooking, shrimp, and crawfish. Non-refundable deposit required 7 days after booking; 30 days notice needed to reschedule.
Airport pickup available from Dothan (Alabama) and Destin (Florida). Bring fishing gear—three lakes on property stocked with bream, bass, and bluegill.
Kill between 1,000-1,500 hogs annually. Around 100 stands with bait sites. Can accommodate up to 15 hunters at once.
Regular gun hunts during daylight hours. Thermal hunts at night—outfit provides guns and thermal scopes. Dog and knife hunts available for hunters wanting action. All hog hunts are unlimited. No per-hog charges or cleaning fees.

Land management enforced since 15 years ago—only mature bucks harvested. After December 10, doe harvest prohibited. Minimum requirement: 8-point buck with 16-inch minimum rack width. Harvesting undersized deer triggers $1,000 penalty fine.
