Coke Wallace started guiding while still at UAF, chasing Dall sheep and waterfowl with college buddies. His hockey teammates saw the potential early—they told him he'd be wasting talent if he didn't make it a career. He's been running Midnight Sun Safaris full-time since 1992.
"He has earned the reputation as one of North America's premier horseback outfitters."
Coke learned from Alaska's greatest outfitters and has hunted every major game animal across each of the state's mountain ranges. He holds a Preferred Outfitter rating with the NRA and Foundation for North American Wild Sheep, and sits on the pro staff for Leica, Filson, and Foxpro.
His hunts have been featured in national magazines and outdoor TV shows. More importantly: he hires guides the same way he picks hunting partners—"whether he would want to hunt with them himself."
Coke's 13-year-old son Parker is already building his own reputation as a sheep guide.
Based in Healy on historic Stampede Road. Coke handles scheduling and booking to keep the focus on hunt quality.
