Full description and what we offer
Founded by Brad Saalsaa in 1990, Alaska Wilderness Charters and Guiding operates from one of Alaska's most productive hunting regions: the Alaska Peninsula in Unit 9. They're known for consistent trophy results—more SCI record bears have come from Units 9E and 9D than any other Alaska units.
May 10-31 hunts near Cold Bay focus on trophy-sized coastal brown bears. Most bears square over 10 feet, with their largest going 11'2" with a 30.6" skull in 2016. Hunters access spike camps via Super Cub with large tundra tires, hunting near the Bering Sea where emerging bears search for carcasses.
Units 9E and 9D have produced more SCI record bears than any other units in Alaska
Two options from October 1-21:
Beyond brown bear, they offer: - Alaska caribou hunts (guided and unguided) - Alaska grizzly bear hunts - Alaska moose hunts - Ketchikan salmon and halibut fishing
Lodge-based fall hunts accommodate elderly hunters and those with mobility issues—some hunters have taken bears from the lodge deck after a day in the field.
