Full description and what we offer
Alaska Hunting Pros operates as a licensed transporter for hunters targeting Sitka blacktail deer, Kodiak brown bear, reindeer, Roosevelt elk, fox, and waterfowl. The difference from traditional guided hunts is straightforward: you're the guide. You decide where to hunt, what to hunt, and when to hunt.
Their boat-based camps anchor in bays near hunting grounds. You get full access to the vessel's facilities—5 bunk beds with memory foam cushions, private bathroom, shower, food prep area, dining space, and a large covered deck for game processing. The boat is US Coast Guard inspected and equipped with top-of-the-line electronics.
Capacity is 5 hunters maximum, keeping things manageable.
Your equipment and hunting skill. State of Alaska regulations prevent transporters from guiding you, providing maps, assisting with game removal from the field, or helping with field dressing. This is intentionally designed for experienced hunters who don't need hand-holding.
Cost Reality: Transport hunts run significantly less than guided hunts, which typically cost $7,000-$30,000. The tradeoff is straightforward—independence and savings in exchange for your own navigation and decision-making.
