Full description and what we offer
Northern Knives handles Cerakote coating work on firearms, AR uppers and lowers, scopes, and pretty much anything else you want protected and customized. They're located at 531 E 5th Ave in Anchorage and take custom finishing seriously—the work shown on their site ranges from AR builds with two-tone finishes to Leupold scopes with honeycomb patterns.
Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating that bonds to metal and other surfaces at the molecular level. It's hard-wearing, comes in dozens of colors, and can handle actual use. Unlike spray paint, it doesn't chip or fade. Northern Knives applies it to:
Their portfolio shows custom work like Carbon Grey backgrounds with Titanium honeycomb patterns, two-tone desert tan/OD green combinations, and color combinations like watermelon green with Prison Pink hardware. They also offer engraving—visible in their examples is custom gold fill work with skull logos on AR lowers.
Get a quote by filling out their form on the Cerakote Services page. They respond within two business days. No phone quotes—submit details online and they'll reach back to discuss your project.
If you're shipping from outside Anchorage, you handle shipping to them. Once they receive your work, they evaluate and confirm the job before starting. Turnaround isn't specified on the site, but they ask you to wait for confirmation before shipping anything in.

Northern Knives is primarily a knife shop (Benchmade, Zero Tolerance, and custom knife inventory), but they've built a solid reputation for Cerakote work. They also run a knife trade-in program—you can exchange used knives for credit toward new purchases, get a cash buyout, or have them appraise your knife for you to sell elsewhere. They buy unusual trade items too: pelts, bone, antler, ivory, skulls, militaria, gold, and exotic woods—as long as it's legal.
They ship worldwide using USPS, UPS, FedEx, or DHL depending on destination. In-store pickup available in Anchorage. Domestic orders over $150 qualify for free shipping; smaller orders are $10 flat rate.
