Full description and what we offer
Afognak Wilderness Lodge is a remote big game outfitter operating from a log lodge on Afognak Island in Alaska's Kodiak Island Archipelago. The operation has maintained a 90% success rate for Kodiak brown bear hunts spanning nearly 6 decades, with guides who have lived year-round in the wilderness for 2-4 decades.
Josh Randall is an Alaskan Registered Guide raised and schooled in the wilderness. Shannon Randall has lived and hunted on North Afognak Island since 1968 and was integral to creating and operating the lodge. Both are NRA Life Members and active in Safari Club International, the Alaska Professional Hunters Association, and the Kodiak Island Convention & Visitors Bureau.
All hunts include: - All meals and lodging - Sauna access - Internet and satellite TV - Butcher and vacuum-sealing facilities - Walk-in freezer - Shipping boxes - Guided access to marine and land wildlife
Afognak Island sits in the Kodiak Islands Archipelago with moss-floored lowlands, open meadows, gravel beaches, and elevations up to 1,000 feet. Temperatures range 30-50°F in spring and fall. Protected harbor provides shelter from weather. The terrain supports world-class populations of Kodiak brown bear, Roosevelt elk, and Sitka blacktail deer.
$35,000 per 10-day guided hunt
These are the most intense hunts offered. Kodiak brown bears are the world's largest carnivores, fed by Alaska's abundant salmon runs. Only 1-2 hunting parties at a time, each with separate guide and cabin cruiser. Both rifle and bow hunters welcome.
