Hunt AK Outfitters has been running guided hunts across Alaska's backcountry for over three decades. Jim and his team handle most of the guiding themselves alongside some of the region's best guides. Grizzly Bear - Spring hunts (May 1 – June 15) and fall hunts (September 1 – 25) - Bears average 7 to 9 feet - Interior grizzlies hunted in remote areas with minimal human presence
Dall Sheep - Based in the Alaska Range with 40+ years of local knowledge - Rams typically 37 to 42 inches - Horseback travel through rolling hills and valleys up to 7,500 feet - No extreme fitness required, but decent conditioning helps
Moose - September 1 – 25 season - Average bulls 55 to 70 inches - Methods include glassing by horseback, spot-and-stalk, and calling - Area closed to motorized vehicles—no ATVs during your hunt
Caribou - Draw-based hunts with resident herds that don't migrate - They help with the state drawing submission process - Hunt occurs fall following successful draw in December
Most hunts run 10 days. All hunts involve horseback travel to remote camps with cabin stays. The outfitter prides itself on isolation—you typically won't see other hunters or vehicles during your hunt.
"I have hunted with Jim Nabulsi and Hunt AK Outfitters for Sheep and Moose... Both of my trips there were fantastic. Jim and his guides, along with the camp cook, have always been very friendly, professional, and responsive." — Dean, Social Circle, GA
