Full description and what we offer
Wildman Hunt was built by hunters, bush pilots, and adventurers who know Alaska from a lifetime in its backcountry. The lodge carries the legacy of Master Guide Gary "Butch" King Jr., who began guiding at age 12 and spent over five decades shaping Alaska's hunting tradition. In 2023, Butch and his wife Kathy passed the operation forward, preserving a tradition built on integrity, stewardship, and the pursuit of world-class big game.
The lodge sits overlooking the Ocean River, Mount Veniaminof, and the Aleutian Range at coordinates 56.45° N, -159.76° W. You can only reach it by plane—accessible only by air, 500 miles from Anchorage. Most of your hunt is spent in remote spike camps, closely supported by seasoned guides and bush pilots.
"Wildman did not disappoint. Hunt of a lifetime where new friends were made and blessed with a true trophy." — Tommy Stalvey, Georgia
Aaron Johnson serves as Wildman's Chief Pilot and primary registered guide. Born and raised in Washington, he began guiding on the Alaska Peninsula in 2006 and obtained his assistant guide license two years later. Aaron holds multiple pilot certifications including commercial single-engine land and sea, instrument, and flight instructor credentials. He founded Oros Outdoors in 2024 to provide registered guide services for Wildman Hunt.
