Full description and what we offer

Wildman Hunt was built by hunters, bush pilots, and adventurers who know Alaska from a lifetime in its backcountry. The lodge carries the legacy of Master Guide Gary "Butch" King Jr., who began guiding at age 12 and spent over five decades shaping Alaska's hunting tradition. In 2023, Butch and his wife Kathy passed the operation forward, preserving a tradition built on integrity, stewardship, and the pursuit of world-class big game.

  • Brown Bear — 10-day fully guided hunts for coastal Alaska brown bears. $36,000 per hunt. Hunt seasons rotate: May in even years (2026, 2028, 2030) and October in odd years (2027, 2029). The lodge hunts thousands of square miles in Game Management Unit 9E, specifically managed as a trophy brown bear area. Clients have won multiple Safari Club International awards, three World Hunt Awards for "Best North American Trophy," and twice achieved the #1 SCI Brown Bear ranking, outscoring all Kodiak bears.
  • Moose — 10-day fully guided moose hunts. $36,000 per hunt.
  • Caribou — 1-on-1 hunts at $18,000 or 2-on-1 at $16,000 per hunter.
  • Cast & Blast — Combined hunting and fishing experience. $10,400.

The lodge sits overlooking the Ocean River, Mount Veniaminof, and the Aleutian Range at coordinates 56.45° N, -159.76° W. You can only reach it by plane—accessible only by air, 500 miles from Anchorage. Most of your hunt is spent in remote spike camps, closely supported by seasoned guides and bush pilots.

"Wildman did not disappoint. Hunt of a lifetime where new friends were made and blessed with a true trophy." — Tommy Stalvey, Georgia
