Moose Pass Sportsmen's Club

The Moose Pass Sportsmen's Club is a volunteer-run, non-profit community organization in Alaska dedicated to preserving the rural Alaskan lifestyle. Originally formed in 1947 with the primary intent of developing an indoor shooting range, the club has evolved into a broader civic organization serving the Moose Pass community.

Founded in 1947, the MPSC began as a shooting club and has grown to become the steward of the community's historic block building (completed in 1961). The organization is committed to:

• •Preserving natural and scenic resources of the Moose Pass area
• •Supporting local schools and responsible economic growth
• •Maintaining the Community Hall and supporting the Moose Pass Public Library

The club operates from its Community Hall in Moose Pass, Alaska (PO Box 72, Moose Pass, AK 99631). While the original indoor shooting range concept was central to its founding, the organization now primarily functions as a community center hosting civic events and gatherings.

The MPSC is best known for hosting major community events including:

• •Summer Solstice Festival (Third weekend in June) - The primary fundraiser featuring live music, family activities, vendors, games, and contests
• •Halloween Carnival - Held at Moose Pass School with games, contests, and activities for children
• •Christmas with Santa - Annual holiday celebration with gift distribution
• •New Years on the Lake - Winter celebration with bonfire, skating, skiing, and sledding
