Alaska Gun Company isn't another rifle shop cranking out cookie-cutter builds. Founded by Reed Carlson—a competitive shooter and serious hunter—AGC focuses on one thing: rifles that work when conditions get ugly and the stakes are high.
From Alaska's backcountry to the African plains, their gear has been put through its paces and passed.
Every rifle is custom-engineered for your specific hunt, shooting style, and conditions. Popular builds include:
- •Featherweight mountain hunters – stripped down for high-country glassing and long packs
- •Precision competition rigs – tuned for accuracy at distance
- •Compact backcountry rifles – breakdown systems for remote access
Custom builds start around $3,000 depending on components. Lead time typically runs 4 to 6 months, and they'll source preferred actions, barrels, optics, and accessories from premium brands.
They handle everything from trigger work to full restorations:
- •Scope mounting & leveling
- •Trigger tuning
- •Barrel threading
- •Custom Cerakote finishes (protective and aesthetic coatings in multiple colors)
- •General maintenance and upgrades
You can bring your own rifle or have them work on a build they started.
Owning a rifle is one thing. Making flawless shots when they count is another. AGC offers one-on-one coaching covering:
- •Fundamentals: stance, grip, breathing, sight picture
- •Trigger control and follow-through
- •DOPE card creation and ballistics coaching
- •Live-fire drills with target analysis
Nationwide Service — While based in Wasilla, Alaska, they work with clients across the US and can ship completed builds or host virtual consultations.
Every rifle is precision-tested and built to meet strict accuracy standards. They'll guide component selection to maximize performance.
