Checkmate Hunting & Fishing is a disabled veteran-owned operation run by SGT James McNicol, an Arizona native who's been hunting and fishing the state since 1994. Based out of Camp Verde in central Arizona, Jimmy guides hunts and fishing trips throughout the entire state—from Flagstaff to Lake Powell, Parker to the Colorado River.
Multi-Day Hunts (5 days, includes food and field accommodations): - Bear: $4,000 - Deer: $4,000 (first tag), $2,000 (additional tags) - Elk Bull: $5,000 (first tag), $2,000 (additional) - Elk Cow: $2,500 (first tag), $1,500 (additional) - Antelope: $4,000 - Turkey: $4,000
Single-Day Hunts (food and beverage included): - Predator (coyote): $400 - Javelina: $800 - Turkey: $1,000 - Quail: $700 (first gun), $300 (each additional)
Fishing Trips (6 hours, snacks and beverages): - Lake Pleasant or Bartlett Lake: $400 for 2 people - Chain lakes (Saguaro, Canyon, Apache, Roosevelt): $450 for 2 people - Additional adults: $100 | Additional kids: $50
Scouting Reports: Weekly updates with location intel and photos ($1,200 for deer/elk bull/antelope)
Jimmy's been hunting predators in Arizona since 1994 and knows the terrain like the back of his hand. As a combat veteran, he brings both hunting expertise and safety discipline to every trip. He handles trophy care and field processing to get meat to processors for your freezer.
Families, homeschoolers, and women's groups are welcome. Experience level doesn't matter—Jimmy adjusts to beginners or collaborates with experienced hunters on strategy.
