Pleasant Valley Trap Club serves as one of Arizona's active ATA-registered shooting facilities, hosting events sanctioned by the Arizona State Trapshooting Association (ASTA). Located in Young, the club operates within Arizona's organized trapshooting network that spans from September 1 through August 31 each year.

The club hosts registered ATA tournaments featuring multiple shooting disciplines:

  • Singles competitions - Traditional trap shooting with standard yardage
  • Handicap events - Trap shooting from graduated distances
  • Doubles tournaments - Two-target presentations per shot
  • Monthly Big 50s - Regular smaller competitive shoots
  • State championship events - Qualifying tournaments for Arizona state teams

The ATA target year runs September 1 to August 31. All Arizona residents must hold current ASTA membership to compete in registered shoots statewide.

All Arizona residents must be members of ASTA in good standing before participating in any ATA registered shoots within the State.

Pleasant Valley hosts shooters across multiple competitive levels:

  • Sub-Junior & Junior classifications
  • Rookie shooters (first-time ATA members)

Shooters are recognized for high averages in each discipline and total targets registered during the ATA year.

Pleasant Valley competes alongside other major Arizona ATA clubs including Ben Avery Clay Target Center, Casa Grande Trap & Skeet Club, Double Adobe Campground & Shotgun Sports, Flagstaff Trap & Skeet, Lake Havasu City Sportsman Club, Mohave Sportsman's Club, Prescott Trap & Skeet Club, Rio Salado Sportsman's Club, Tri-State Shooting Park, and Tucson Trap & Skeet Club.

The club contributes to Arizona's state shoot calendar with tournaments throughout the year, providing opportunities for resident shooters to compete for state team placement and recognition in the Arizona Hall of Fame.
