Ben DuBois started Cotter Elite Anglers in 2024 after years exploring different guide work across the country. Born and raised in Fayetteville, Arkansas, he spent his childhood outdoors and knew early he wanted to guide. After graduating from the University of Arkansas, he worked with various outfitters, learning client service and wildlife management before launching his own operation.
White River — Fed by Bull Shoals Dam, this 90-mile tailwater is world-renowned for trophy brown trout. Nymphing is the primary tactic year-round. Spring and summer bring dry fly and hopper fishing. Winter streamer fishing produces big fish.
Norfork River — A 4-mile stretch below the dam before it hits the White River. Strong catch-and-release section that consistently produces. Same tactics as the White, but the shorter water means you can stack up more fish in a day.
Dry Run Creek — A smaller creek below the Norfork National Fish Hatchery, designed for young anglers under 16. Smaller water, but the trout are monsters. Ben fished it as a kid and enjoys introducing the next generation.
"Ben's knowledge of the waters and fishing techniques is top-notch. He not only put me on some fantastic fish but also made the entire trip enjoyable with his friendly and easygoing attitude." — Caleb Hutcherson
Clients book him repeatedly—some come back three weekends in a row. He teaches fly casting and technique to beginners while helping experienced anglers top personal bests on trophy browns and rainbows. Equipment is well-maintained and he adapts to both low and high water conditions.
Ben and his wife Megan live in Cotter with two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. He's known for making trips about building memories, not just catching fish.
