Full description and what we offer
Duck Down Guide Service operates in the heart of Arkansas's "Golden Triangle" of duck country—the area that draws over 2 million migrating waterfowl each winter. Located 15 minutes west of Stuttgart (the "Duck & Rice Capitol of the World") and just north of Bayou Meto Wildlife Management Area, Duck Down sits in the exact spot where pressured ducks from public areas seek refuge.
The operation hunts exclusively on the northern half of the 6,050-acre Willey farm, a property purchased by the Henderson family in the early 1950s in what was then the largest land transaction in Southeast Arkansas history. This proven ground is known locally for consistent duck numbers and quality hunting experiences.
Duck Down hunts rice, soybean, corn, and millet fields as well as sloughs and timber. Most duck hunts take place in fields from skid blinds, pit blinds, and layout blinds strategically positioned and brushed to blend with surroundings. Your guide scouts the evening before to locate where ducks are using the property, then decides the next morning's location. Guides also run speckle belly goose hunts targeting thousands of birds that migrate in late October through January, and conservation snow goose hunts February through April.
Morning hunts end at 10:00am. Afternoon duck hunts in backwater areas (Arkansas River and oxbow lakes) run 2:30pm to legal shooting time. Afternoon speck hunts available to enhance combo packages.
