2nd A Firearms Training handles all the California CCW requirements without the runaround. Whether you're applying fresh or renewing, they've got the right class at the right price.

Initial Permits come in two flavors depending on your application date: - 8-hour class ($200): For applications submitted before Jan 1, 2024 - 16-hour class ($180 per day, two days): For applications after Dec 31, 2023

Renewals are $200 for the state-mandated 8-hour class, same requirements.

Adding firearms to an existing permit runs $50 per qualification session.

If you want to actually train after getting the permit, they offer:

• •Practical Pistol/Holster Workshop ($150): Fundamentals, accuracy, holster techniques, snap caps only—no live fire
• •CCW Skill Builder ($150): Monthly dynamic outdoor range classes with rotating drills

Both assume you show up with a firearm, holster, spare mags, and ammunition.

• •Classes held at their San Diego location and at TGR range in Dulzura
• •Non-member range fees apply ($20-25) unless you're with South Bay Rod & Gun
• •TGR members shoot free during classes
• •All firearms must be California registered
• •You need sheriff approval before taking the 16-hour initial class
