Cottrell Hunting Ranch operates on some of Northern California's best blacktail deer and Roosevelt elk country. The ranch covers 15,000 acres of privately owned timber and grazing land, with oak woodlands and willow tree ditches that support a healthy, managed herd.
Family Legacy Since 1865
Today's 5th generation family members operate and live on the ranch. The operation combines working cattle ranch management with guided hunting that prioritizes sound herd management practices.

Clients regularly score 125 SCI+ on blacktail. Trophy fees apply for bucks scoring 120+ ($1,000 for 120–129 SCI; $2,000 for 130+).
1×1 fully guided hunts during September rut. Bull hunts require a call for pricing (Clayton Moore, 707-499-1527). Cow hunts: $3,500 plus tag cost. Average bull score since 2016: 327 SCI. Roosevelt elk population has increased steadily since 2010.
Guests stay in the hunting cabin with meals served at the main ranch house. Modern amenities include heated swimming pool, hot tub, television, and furnished bedding. Alternate housing available in a historic homestead house.
Non-hunters can join for $125/day. Wildlife and scenic photography opportunities available.
