Davis Paintball operates one of Northern California's largest paintball complexes—40+ acres with 9 distinct battle fields and plenty of shaded staging area. Located at 24998 County Road 102 in Davis, just outside Sacramento, the facility runs Saturdays and Sundays, 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM (with a lunch break noon–12:30 PM). Private events outside these hours can be booked by contacting the field directly.

The facility offers both low-impact and traditional paintball:

•Low-Impact Paintball (Ages 8+) — Equipment engineered for reduced velocity and light impacts. Perfect for first-time players and kids who want the full paintball experience without heavy impact.
•Traditional Paintball (Ages 10+) — Guns that shoot farther and faster for the maximum competitive experience.

For players under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the waiver (can be completed online ahead of time—the parent doesn't need to be present at the field).

Beginners renting equipment only play other beginner renters. More experienced players are placed in intermediate and advanced games.

Paintball is statistically safer than golf. Davis Paintball enforces strict safety standards: - Industry-approved masks required - Paintball gun velocities checked and kept under the legal limit of 285 feet per second - 10-foot surrender rule strictly enforced - Trained referees on all fields

A direct hit typically feels like a rubber band flick that fades quickly. Padding matters—jeans and a t-shirt may result in light bruising over a few days, while sweatshirts and thicker clothing usually prevent bruising. With adrenaline flowing, impacts are barely noticed.

Paintballs are gelatin capsules filled with non-toxic, water-soluble, biodegradable fill that rinses out with laundry detergent.

•What to Wear: Pants and long-sleeve shirt or sweatshirt (you'll crawl and get dirty—that's part of the fun). Comfortable shoes like tennis shoes or hiking boots are recommended. Glasses fit comfortably under rental masks.

•Game Format: Typical games last 5–10 minutes. Between games, players reload, refill air tanks, drink water, and share war stories. No set time limits—play for an hour or all day.

•Paintballs: Both rental and self-equipped players must purchase paintballs from Davis Paintball the day of play. No outside paintballs allowed.

•Air: The staging area has a compressed air station that fills both 3000 PSI and 4500 PSI tanks. CO2 refills are also available.

The staging area includes plenty of shaded and covered seating with picnic tables, making it suitable for group gatherings. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase.

Walk-ons are welcome on a first-come, first-serve basis—no reservation required. However, making an advance reservation speeds up check-in and guarantees equipment availability. Open play mixes individuals and groups into larger pickup games.
