Own Hogs Wild?
01 // DETAILS
Full description and what we offer
Located 17 miles west of Coalinga in the coastal mountains, Hogs Wild operates a 5,000-acre hunting ranch focused on trophy wild boar and pig hunts. They run two distinct hunt types with different terrain and tactics.
Rifle hunters get full-service guidance across several prime areas on the property. The hunt is spot-and-stalk over the entire 5,000 acres, with a 90% opportunity rate to see hogs. Fully guided means you're paired with a guide the whole time. Standard deer calibers work fine (270, 30-06, 308, etc.).
Bowhunters hunt a dedicated 600-acre section with rolling hills, rugged canyons, oak, manzanita, and brush. You can stalk, use treestands (bring your own), or set up for ambush hunting over trails and wallows. Semi-guided means drivers, tracking help, and general suggestions—guides aren't with you constantly.
Two comfortable cabins with beds, bathrooms, heaters, and hot showers. Outside area for cooler storage, grilling, and relaxation. You bring your own bedding and food—they provide grills and storage space.
| Hunt Type | Duration | Guidance | Price | Success Rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rifle | 2 days | Fully guided | $1,250 | ~90% |
| Bow | 2 days | Semi-guided | $1,200 | Varies |
Best booking timing: Call 5-6 months in advance. Hogs Wild gets booked far ahead, though cancellations do open up. For 2026, they're booking groups of 6 or more.
No single "best" time to hunt—each season has advantages. Summer offers water hunts with good success. Other times mean more active pigs for trail ambushes. Pigs range from piglets to 400-pounders. Physical fitness matters for bowhunting (rugged terrain), but easily accessible areas exist for hunters in lesser shape.
You'll need a valid California hunting license and wild pig tag. Contact Jeremy Fairbanks at (559) 707-9159 or (559) 935-3533 to book.
