Sac Valley Fish & Fowl Guide Service

Sac Valley Fish & Fowl specializes in guided fishing trips on the Sacramento and Feather Rivers, targeting striped bass, chinook salmon, sturgeon, steelhead, and shad. As seasons change, so do the target species. Summer months bring guided charters for trout, kokanee, and landlocked king salmon on local lakes.

Captain Dalton Heryford built this operation from seasonal college work into a full-time guide service. He learned the trade under the mentorship of his uncle, Raith Heryford of RH Guide Service, who emphasized doing business the right way while respecting wildlife and waterways.

When migration season arrives, the Sacramento Valley fills with south-bound waterfowl. Guided hunts take place across thousands of acres of private land with professional guides.

Expect to encounter: - Mallards, pintail, wigeon, teal - Shovelers, gadwall, wood ducks - Specklebelly and snow geese

Sac Valley Fish & Fowl accommodates groups of any size by working with other licensed captains to ensure a professional, safe, and successful day on the water or in the field.

Captain Dalton is licensed, bonded, and insured through the United States Coast Guard and California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The operation includes two hunting retrievers (Hank and Willie) that work the waterfowl hunts.
